Natural black fire opal necklace made with a 925 sterling silver or 14K gold filled over silver finish. The opal is a genuine oval faceted Ethiopian Opal gemstone in 8x6mm or 9x7mm size with mixed fire colors in excellent AAA quality grade.

The necklace has a classic simple design and is made with a 4 prong oval setting and a delicate chain In matching metal or metal finish. The sterling silver used in all of my jewelry is plated with rhodium or white gold over to improve durability, tarnish resistance and the look of the plain silver surface, and it is a significant upgrade in quality of all sterling silver jewelry as well as the new standard of silver jewelry manufacturing which allows customers to enjoy greatly improved experience of wearing the silver pieces that don’t have to be cleaned on regular basis and turn color into yellow unappealing shade from oxidation. The rhodium silver doesn’t have those annoying faults that make it an unpopular choice of metal for long lasting pieces, because you can easily maintain the new shiny look of the metal with relatively no effort.

I use only the top quality grade natural black fire opal gemstones that are selected from all of my purchased gemstones to be sold at this shop for their unique bright coloring and best fire. The stones are sourced from verified professional sources that are known for ethical practices and the high quality standard when it comes to their gemstone production. ▪️Play Of Color: small flashes, pin fire or honeycomb pattern arranged colors with vibrant bright glowing lights appearing over the dark base tone- light colored base is indicative of poor quality of the opal even if the fire of the stone is bright. It is the sudden contrast of the fire colors that pop over dark background that makes up the mysterious and incredibly appealing effect that defines more valuable quality black opals;

The default length is 16”-18” with the extension chain; there’s a new style of adjustable chain that is used whenever it is a better option especially in rhodium plated sterling silver necklaces;

🟣PROCESSING TIME:

▪️I put as much time, effort and care into creating each made to order piece of jewelry as is necessary to bring it to the achievable perfection. Almost every item is made only to order, unless indicated otherwise, and it usually takes 1-2 weeks to fulfill most orders;
▪️MAXIMUM processing time is set for 4 weeks due to occasional circumstances that are out of my control;
▪️I don’t have solid gold inventory, so I have to have extra time for ordering settings for ALL solid gold orders, so min processing time is 2 weeks for solid gold jewelry;
▪️I work entirely alone, so if I am not available for any reason such as health or other obligations, there’s nobody else who can replace me;
▪️I do accept URGENT ORDERS, which I can make in a short time, but you have to leave a note for me with the DEADLINE when you need your item to arrive; many items are eligible for expedited shipping;

▪️The materials used in creating my jewelry are ONLY genuine top quality Ethiopian Welo Fire Opal of AAA quality grade or higher, high quality genuine moissanite of VVS or higher clarity and authentic precious metals: solid 925 Sterling silver, 10k or 14k yellow, rose and white gold.
▪️ All opals are NATURAL, EARTH MINED, SOLID AND ETHICALLY SOURCED;
I NEVER use doublets/triplets opals, artificially enhanced, lab created, or man made opals; I don’t authenticate natural opals because they are impossible to fake in my opinion, but I will test anything at any lab of your choice for a separate fee;
▪️I prefer to use a new standard in 925 sterling silver jewelry industry which now manufactures rhodium or white gold plated solid 925 sterling silver, which is greatly superior to plain silver and offers improved appearance with highly polished lustrous long lasting surface that offers such practical advantages as great tarnish resistance and more durable finish that requires minimum maintenance care; plain silver settings are available for some time until sold out completely, and all jewelry is going to be made with rhodium/white gold plated settings, that will result in a better quality jewelry available for all buyers;
▪️All solid gold, natural diamonds and moissanite are always tested for authenticity, and therefore I can GUARANTEE that all of the materials I use are 100% GENUINE, SAFE and HYPOALLERGENIC and come from SUSTAINABLE SOURCES;
▪️I use natural gemstones, so occasional tiny inclusion, a scratch or a tool mark can occur but it will be small and undetectable with naked eye;
▪️ White fire opals are more colorful and have more natural brilliance than black opals if you are looking for a gift but are unfamiliar with the gemstone yourself. Opt for a white opal as a safer choice that will effortlessly appeal to the vast majority of people;

But this gemstone has certain features that make it very hard or impossible to objectively represent them via photos and videos with a degree of absolute precision. ▪️The play of color in any natural opal results from a process of constant interaction between the light and the opal’s complex inner structure producing that unique combination of colors that we know as visible “fire”. It is not only unique to each individual opal, but is produced following the movement and the changes in the surrounding light - without the light you cannot see opal’s fire at all, because light is what creates the play of color. That’s why every opal’s appearance depends upon its continuous interaction with the light which produces different color combinations, determines the brightness, fire intensity etc., Even the very same opal is going to look different from its own photos depending on the lighting environment that exists around it at each specific moment;
▪️Even making a video does not provide a solution to this problem, because of the exposure related artifacts that either dampen all colors and the opal’s natural vibrancy or exaggerate these qualities in other cases. This happens whenever camera settings cannot readjust fast enough to capture fast changes in color brightness that inevitably result from continuous movement. This particularly affects white opals of the highest quality grade that look overexposed and colorless: they only show bright white color with little to no visible colors or glow - nothing can be more different from what you will see in real life;
