🟣 THE OPAL:

100% natural, earth mined, professionally hand cut and polished, solid, untreated and untouched by modern technology fire opal gemstone in a very large size without any defects or imperfections visible on the opal’s surface when viewed from any angle or under any lighting conditions.

The setting is a classic cabochon style 4 prong solid 925 sterling silver pendant setting with rhodium or white/yellow/rose 14k gold finish over. The plating layer is meant not only to create a positive esthetic effect but also to prevent tarnishing and micro scratches resulting from regular wear and tear. Rhodium is a precious metal that is particularly useful for this purpose and is used interchangeably with 14k white gold due to very similar look and properties of the two metals.

This opal is ONE OF A KIND necklace, and is as close to perfection as Nature would allow it in a wearable handmade piece of jewelry. It is unique, as everything that Nature creates, and will definitely make you very happy to have in your collection or to give this as a gift to that very special person ❤️🎁🎀

The optics in my camera can pick up the true colors of the opal, but require a professional photographer and I am not one of them, so I just keep trying to capture the essence of the opal and it’s beauty, but it is a very difficult task to represent the true colors of this gemstone as you can observe them in real life. This being said, the photos do not do justice to this amazing gemstone, and it can be truly appreciated only seen by your own eyes.

Rhodium or white gold are used interchangeably (being both precious metals) to produce an upgraded quality of 925 sterling silver jewelry that features a more appealing look and a considerably more durable jewelry settings and components compared to just 925 sterling silver. Rhodium/white gold over 925 sterling silver requires minimum maintenance care and has become a new industry standard in 925 sterling silver jewelry manufacturing.

🟪MATERIALS AND QUALITY STANDARD:

▪️I use only high quality precious metals and natural gemstones in creating my jewelry. The quality standard for this shop is set to be especially high.
I use my best quality stones for creating items offered at this shop, so each and every item is not only made to order but is typically made with perfect or nearly perfect gemstones, with excellent time consuming level of craftsmanship seen in every detail.

▪️I do not use stock photos for a reason: I design everything myself, and take my own photos of the items upon completion of the item so you can be sure that the jewelry sold through this store is going to look exactly as pictured with the exception of gemstones, which are unique and never look the same.
I did my fair share of online shopping to understand how rare it is to find a real quality jewelry - if you think that a cheaper price will bring you the same or almost the same item, you are making a mistake especially when it comes to certain countries and many Etsy sellers who drop ship mass produced goods and pass them for “handcrafted” items. I put as much time into creating each “made to order” piece as is necessary to bring it to achievable perfection.

▪️It came to my attention that my photos are being used by other sellers on Etsy and eBay offering the same items for a quarter of the price.
Well… They cannot make the items they show, because it is not their product…
It is mighty hard to get your money back from the country with unreliable postal services, because you cannot return what you bought, and the scammers count exactly on this factor to deny you refund, so you will never see your money again.
It happened to me multiple times, and I hope that you are going to be smarter than that to trust anyone who steals photos from another seller.

🟪NATURAL OPAL PHOTOGRAPHY ISSUES - A MUST READ ARTICLE FOR ALL:

▪️As much as they are beautiful natural opals are extremely difficult to represent objectively on photos and sometimes on video as well. This can result in a potential dissatisfaction on behalf of a customer because they might have different expectations from their purchase, because opals are such tricky chameleons.

▪️Please keep this in mind when you are looking through the available items, that colors of the opal are constantly changing depending on the light angle, intensity and other factors, and the item you purchased WILL definitely look different from the listing photos, which is ABSOLUTELY NORMAL. Even if the two opals have the same quality and brightness - they still will offer their own unique way of interacting with the light, which is what defines the Opal and gives it its “personality”.
Most listings contain photos of a few very similar opals unless indicated otherwise. You will receive an opal that looks very very close to the ones pictured in the listing photos. The selection is made with a lot of attention to a variety of features and characteristics that are seen in a certain price category, and the stone I select will have the same value as the stone depicted in the listing photos. No opal is picked randomly without scrutiny and thorough comparison.

▪️Black opals are PREDOMINATELY DARK gemstones and won’t appear as bright as the listing photos due to their dark overall base tone, which makes the play of color appear and “come to life” ONLY during movement as the stone interacts with different light sources at different angles - without the light you will not be able to see any fire. This is NORMAL for the black opals, and is not a sign of lower value or inferior quality.
This interaction with the light source produces a specific “picture” that is being seen on a still image, but it will continue to change as the light around the opal changes, so it is IMPOSSIBLE to show what a fire opal actually looks like, because it is a CONTINUING PROCESS and not any particular set of colors on a background. This process is responding to the INTENSITY OF LIGHT, and photos are ALWAYS TAKEN UNDER DIRECT LIGHT SOURCE. This particular aspect of opal photography causes A LOT OF CONFUSION AND DISAPPOINTMENT coming from those who are UNPREPARED TO SEE THE SAME OPAL LOOK DIFFERENT UNDER LOWER LIGHTING CONDITIONS. When seen under different light or at a different angle - the opal WILL LOOK ABSOLUTELY DIFFERENT FROM ITS OWN PHOTO, so please read as much information about this issue as you can find to avoid being disappointed with your purchase.

▪️ANY natural opal will look much BRIGHTER UNDER ARTIFICIAL LIGHT and SIGNIFICANTLY DULLER UNDER THE NATURAL LIGHT. That’s how you can tell that it is INDEED A NATURAL OPAL.
Opal is always changing its colors and never shows the exact same combination of colors with the same level of brightness, so expecting it to look like ANY PHOTO is simply unrealistic.
When an opal is seen in motion it looks entirely different almost every second following any minute changes in the angle of light, SO MOVEMENT IS WHAT CREATES THE PLAY OF COLOR.
Please be prepared to see a MORE SUBTLE BEAUTY, which will reveal the full spectrum of its potential under direct light source such as a simple table lamp.

▪️ For those who favor RED COLORS IN A BLACK OPAL: please remember that it is NOT a garnet or ruby, and the PRIMARY COLOR is going to be BLACK, so there’s only so much red you can expect to see in an opal. It is limited due to the fact that it is also the MOST RARE of colors that you can find in any opal.

🟪WHITE OPALS ARE USUALLY AND SADLY UNDERESTIMATED:

▪️A WHITE OPAL OF HIGH QUALITY GRADE IS SIGNIFICANTLY BRIGHTER AND OFFERS MORE VIBRANCY AND ELECTRIFYING INTENSITY OF COLOR compared to the black variety.
▪️Unlike the black opals which tend to look BETTER THAN REAL LIFE, the WHITE OPALS LOOK MUCH MORE BLAND compared to their real life self. The white reflective base tone simply blinds the camera and sends too much light into its path especially with the best opals…..
It is a MONUMENTAL TASK to capture the actual beauty of the best quality grade white opal OBJECTIVELY - I do my best, but it’s really hard, which is why I take long time to post fresh listings…..

To eliminate unnecessary guess work from the return process I document the condition of the jewelry before it is shipped out to a buyer by taking very high resolution photos and videos of each piece while I have it in my possession.
The photos have an identifiable tag attached to the jewelry showing the date , customer initials and my signature.
Please do not take the tag off until you inspected the jewelry for defects and are certain that you will keep it.
